I just want correct spelling mainly. I speak and write it.. just some words and stuff I get confused on, but I’ll rather it be fully correct than partially.
Hey, how have you been? I have been good. I’m sorry I haven’t had time to write to you, I’ve been busy. I started to play soccer for my school. I also started to go to the gym. My college class finally finished. I had a test about once a week for that class. Studying all the time, after school practice, and going to the gym rarely gave me time for anything. I scored a goal on our first game. It was from the half line. It almost went over the goal post, but luckily it went in. I still babysit but only two kids now. One of the girls started to go to school, so that left me with the boy and the other girl. I asked my parents everyday to let me go over there for vacation, but they told me it was dangerous right now. I hope I can go in February though.
Reason I’m writing this to you is to wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Tell your family the same. How are they? I hope they’re O.K. My family are doing good. It’s just been freezing here. From my house you can see the mountains and they are filled with snow. It has been raining a few days, but it stopped already.
School just got out yesterday, I could’ve been over there if I would’ve convinced my parents. Now I have to wait.
Well, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year once again. Don’t get too drunk. I wish you the best. Don’t forget about me.
Have fun,
****
THANKS!
I tried the online translators.. they didn’t really help on some.. =/
¿Como han estado? Yo he estado bien.Lamento no haber tenido tiempo para escribirles. He estado ocupado.
Excuse me I`m, having a good laugh because everything written by the other posters is pure crap ! lol !
I was saying…
Ahora debo esperar.
Bueno, Nuevamente Feliz Navidad y Año Nuevo .No te emborraches demasiado.Te deseo lo mejor. No me olvides.
Diviertete.
And they think they are smart because they use a translator!
How ignorants they are!
I’m currently living in Spain as an exchange student where I am spending my Senior year in a regular Spanish high school. I did the SATs (1340) and applied to UPenn back in November. Despite a pretty strong high school record (GPA near 4.0, all honors except one math class, 3rd in my class, Spanish and US History AP courses with 4 and 5 scored respectively, some volunteer work, 5 weeks study and volunteer in Costa Rica, and a year abroad in Spain ,ntm my dad is alumni), I was wait-listed until spring. Subsequently, I applied to Rutgers (my state school) and Northwestern University. Spring came, and I received rejection letters from UPenn and Northwestern. I am accepted into Rutgers with a scholarship (4 grand a year) and in-state tuition, but the prospect of going to Rutgers depresses me a bit. I don’t mean to be a college elitist, but many of my classmates from before will be going and my sister who is a student also hasn’t exactly raved about it. I’ve been on campus and it hasn’t thrilled me either. I want to study something along the lines of Journalism/History/Int’l Relations/Spanish with an ultimate goal of the Foreign Service, but I am really content with a career path in each individual major (I’m thinking of double majoring).
Now here’s where the real question comes in. Is it worth it to go back to High School, which entails some shame to be repeating a year but also gives me an opportunity to retake the SATs (I think i could make a 1400), take a couple more AP Classes, and reapply to schools? Or should I stay where I am and take the scholarship, instate tuition of Rutgers and study there? How much would retaking the SATs, taking a couple of AP courses, and "properly" finishing high school effect a second application round? How does the name of a college and consistency of my studies correlate to my ultimate goal of the Foreign Service?
Psychologically:
If you can, relate to me repeating a year in high school and its benefits and consequences. Is it possible for me to easily go back into that old routine, after living an awesome, independent year in Spain?
Thanks beforehand to anyone who responds. I appreciate all advice and criticism.
That would be a waste of time.Your first year of school is just gen eds anyway. Go to Rutgers, do really well, and transfer. That way you won’t be pushed back a year. It won’t look very good on your transcripts that you took a year in high school over/took 5 years to graduate. Transferring is a very easy thing to do, just get some gen eds out of the way.
When do i have to register for the AP’s, and where: on-line or at the school?? (not mine)
(Independent Study)
Taking: Spanish Lang. Macroecon & Microecon
From College Board:
"If you are a homeschooled student or attend a school that does not offer AP, you can still take the exams by arranging to test at a participating school.
Call AP Services no later than March 1 to get the names and telephone numbers of local AP Coordinators. Prepare a list of the exams you plan to take prior to calling so that the appropriate Coordinators can be identified
Contact the AP Coordinators identified by AP Services no later than March 15."
