“Spanish Study” fron “Solo Guitar Playing” Book by Frederick Noad pg 49.

I’m in my fourth year of Spanish in school and feel that i’m not learning as much as i should be.
I would suggest reading Isabel Allende’s "La Casa de los Espiritus". You will probably need a dictionary to get through it, but it is a fairly simple book to get started reading real books in Spanish (as opposed to something REALLY HARD, like "Pedro Parramo").
Also, books by Paolo Coehlo, such as "El Alquimista", that have been translated into Spanish from Portuguese are really good for those just beginning to read novels because they are often written simply, in the style of a fable or fairy-tale.
If you mean that you want a textbook to improve your Spanish, then I would suggest "Repase y escriba: Curso avanzado de gramatica y composicion", by Dominicis and Reynolds. This book is often used in third-year college courses (so it should be challenging if you are in your fourth year of High School Spanish). However, it is usually pretty expensive and I would suggest trying to buy a used copy online rather than a new one at the bookstore.
This is a video that accompanies the book Dicho y Hecho, which we are using in the new Spanish self-study group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/spanishselfstudy. This group starts mid-February, so if you are interested in learning Spanish, please join up with us!
This video covers the vowels, as listed on pages 2 of Dicho y Hecho.
